LaSertoma Board

President

Beverly Murphy

I’ve been a member of Roxboro LaSertoma since August 2014. Wow, it seems like just yesterday that I joined this phenomenal civic organization.

After having served as Treasurer, Vice President, & President of the Roxboro LaSertoma Club, growing into the role as International Director of the Atlantic Carolina West Region was an opportunity which was anticipated to be a rewarding venture.

My reign as International Director began with many challenges due to COVID.  However, we endured & rose to the challenges we faced providing successful fund-raising activities and serving mankind.

One of my most rewarding accomplishments was the chartering of our new youth group DIVAS.  I love our mission statement to enhance the lives of all persons and to promote youth and education through public awareness as we strive to be “Leaders in Service to Mankind.”

president Elect

Debbie Belt

Debbie Belt joined Heath LaSertoma in 2011. She attended her first International Convention that same year and hasn’t missed one since then. She has held every office on the local club level except for secretary.

She was International Director for the North Central Region from 2019 to 2021 – the COVID years. Her only regret of serving during those years was that she did not have to opportunity to travel to different clubs during that time.

Debbie is a retired elementary music teacher. She is married to Jeff, a retired United Methodist pastor. They have 4 grown children and eight grandchildren.

Besides being active in the Heath club, she directs the choir at Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville, Ohio, sings in the Greater Zanesville Singers Choir, and plays in the Grace Handbell Choir. She and Jeff also go to as many of their grandkids school and sporting events.

2nd Vice President

Scott Williston

My name is Scott Williston from Chatham ON Canada

I have been involved with LaSertoma more years then I can count. I have been  a member for 15 years. I have held many positions within my local clubs. Served as President of the Sertoma Foundation of Canada. Treasurer of the Riverview Funds Bingo Board and sit on the WISH Centre Board also served six years as President of the Chatham Goodfellows.

I am looking forward to serving as the first male to be on the Executive Board of LaSertoma International. Breaking the mold but following in the footsteps of two very strong women in my life who have served as President of LaSertoma International my Mother Queen Mary Williston and my beautiful Wife Helen Williston.

Helen and I have 5 children, 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren many of them are LaSertoma Members in the Chatham Area.

As a child brought up by LaSertoma and Sertoma parents, volunteering has become ingrained in my DNA.

I would like to see LaSertoma grow with more members and new clubs to join our great organization.

Michelle Murphy-McCreary

Hi I’m Michelle Murphy-McCreary, I’ve been a member of LaSertoma for several years off and on. I joined at Heath and then worked to start the middle school youth club back in 2007.  I then moved to Pataskala where I then transferred over to Fourtown LaSertoma, where I held my first round of being club President.

I returned to Heath after Fourtown disbanded. Where I just finished serving 2 years as club President and am now your North Central Director.

Growing up LaSertoma and Sertoma were always a big part of my life as my parents have instilled in me the gift of volunteering and giving.
