
Service-club roots begin in Kansas City, Missouri, with the Co-Operative Club.
Spouses form support groups (Co-Op Lassies; later “Co-Operettes”) and organize internationally in 1929.
Co-Operative International adopts the name Sertoma International (SERvice TO MAnkind).
The Co-Operettes adopt the name LaSertoma International, committed to friendship, fellowship, and philanthropic service.
LaSertoma International is incorporated (June 18, 1934).
Bylaws updated to open membership to all persons devoted to Service to Mankind.
“LaSertoma” affirmed as Leaders in Service to Mankind.
Clubs across the U.S. and Canada continue to serve with a special emphasis on youth, education, literacy, and scholarships.

The Yellow Rose symbolizes friendship and our enduring bond in service—reflected in memorial traditions and writings by Past International President Nancy E. Pratt.
The LaSertoma International emblem is a registered trademark and may not be used by any other organization.
